Can I just tell you how much I LOVED that the kids have been learning all about our country, the flag and other symbols and what they mean, the fact that MANY sacrificed everything for our country and we have a responsibility to be loyal and true and courageous. All of this in the 1st grade! Loved it, loved it. They sang "God Bless the USA" at the end and it just about made me cry. Britton had a speaking part during the George Washington portion of the program and he did it perfectly. We were very proud.
OK, how cute are these outfits!?
Britton's entire class. (There are 5 first grade classes so it was quite the program)
Grandma and Grandpa P came up for the program and to celebrate Jenna's birthday. We went out to ice cream after the program and the kids thought that was pretty great.

We loved the program too. It was awesome and we really appreciated their hard work to prepare it. It was comforting to know that at least some of the next generation are learning to be patriotic. Britton did a terrific job! We were so happy we could be there.
Sounds like it was a super program. I am working with the fifth graders right now on our patriotic program. We are hoping to have it ready to perform the end of March. It is fun to hear all the songs about our country. Glad Britton did well.
