Britton's soccer team
Jenna got asked to another high school's Senior Ball in May by one of the guys on her ballroom dance team. Needless to say they out-waltzed everyone at the dance.
Jenna and Aiden off to Senior Ball
Mother's Day photo op with the family. It is not as easy as you would think to get everyone (AJ) looking and smiling at the same time.
Another one with Grandma and Grandpa P.
Jameson has been choosing some wild hairstyles lately. I wished they lasted longer than a week, but his hair grows pretty fast so it fills in quickly. Yes, he is the envy of all of his friends until it grows out.
On May 17-19 Adam and his parents and siblings had a little mini-reunion in SLC. They ran a 5K went to some tourist spots and had a lot of fun talking, laughing, playing games and spending time together. With no spouses or kids (minus Kim's 2 month old) you can imagine what a party it was.
Bonnie, Dave, (some random race organizer guy), Stephen, Adam, Bethany, Josh, Kim, Loren, Kirsti, Micah and Jaclyn, The only sibling missing was Marci.
I knew they were being wild and crazy when Adam kept sending me pictures like this asking me if I thought he should grow a beard.
Umm, I don't think so.
Britton went to Senior Ball last weekend with a great group of friends.
Britton ran for the Student Executive Council (Ridgeline's version of Student Body Officers) and won! He is really excited to work in that capacity his Senior year. Jenna also ran for Jr. Class Office and won. In fact, she will take over Britton's current position as Jr. Class Secretary. Britton had no idea who won the election when he opened the envelope to announce who would replace him at the school assembly and since the Jr. Officer positions are decided by vote count instead of by running for a specific position it was quite a surprise that Jenna's name was on the paper. Britton and Jenna are pretty much recreating my brother Mckay and mine's experience in High School. He was a Jr. Class officer, I ran for his position, he announced me as the winner and then went on to be a Senior Class Officer. Britton and Jenna will be in student government, cross country and choir together next year just like Mckay and I were. They are like our clones 25 years later!
Adam celebrated a Birthday this last week. The big 4-3! There was a rare break in the rain the night Grandma and Grandpa P had us over for a Birthday BBQ. The Kirks were also invited to the Birthday festivities.
Adam's delicious double decker cakewas made by Cara, an aspiring baker!
It was huge and took us a week to eat it all, but don't worry, we didn't give up until every last crumb was consumed.
Britton and Jenna had their end of year piano recital on Saturday night. This will probably be Britton's last recital since we cannot find a lesson time that will work with his busy schedule next year. It is kind of sad, but we will still get to hear him play around the house for another year so I'm happy about that.
We have a sock problem. Of the 7 people in our family 3 are the most irresponsible sock people I've ever met! (I won't name names, but it ISN'T Adam, Jenna, Britton or me) They take them off and leave them all over the house and neighborhood often wearing them only once before losing at least one of the socks. I've tried natural consequences but they really don't care about not having socks or wearing mismatched socks to school.
I told Korinne I would pay her 10 cents for each pair she could match, but I wasn't prepared to shell out $8.40 and still throw away a large bag of unmatched socks. At least they have socks for the next week or so. 😁
