Adam comes from a family of party planners so it was a bit ironic that they were at our house for New Years. No pressure. I put Adam in charge of the party and he did a great job. We had soup and salad for dinner, played games and the guys were able to watch some football. We even had snacks and soda in the basement for the festivities. I know, definitely a special occasion.
At 11:00 p.m. we went back upstairs to ring in the new year with some crepes.
Nothing says "Happy New Year" like a yummy breakfast.
When the clock struck midnight the fireworks were already going off all over the valley. Apparently we have a lot of fireworks on New Year's around these parts. Who knew?
Jameson was the only one who didn't get to stay up late this year. I don't think he minded very much.
Ok, maybe just a little.
The next day we tried to sleep in as late as we could and just hung out for a good part of the day. Around dinner we were just preparing our New Year's feast when my parents returned home from their 2 week trip to see some of my siblings. They only came to drop a few things off for me but we invited them to eat dinner with us.
The kids got to ring in 2014 with both sets of Grandparents.
| What? I don't get to sit at the big table?? |
We look forward to hearing all about Gramma and Grampa's adventures in Cape Verde during 2014 and beyond.
Goodbye for now!
