8 is Great!

In our house the kids get a friend party when they turn 8 years old.  This year Korinne was able to have her party on her actual birthday.  Always a bonus. Her cake was homemade and may or may not have looked like a big pink donut.

We pride ourselves on having lame birthday cakes and we definitely didn't disappoint this time around.  There was at least one person ready to take a bite. . .

He had moved the chair over, had a spoon handy and was waiting for us to turn our backs. "What, Mom? How about you turn around already." What a character.

After cake and ice cream and opening presents we headed out to The Jump Zone.

It had all the makings of a true "Hilary party"-- no planning required. The girls had a great time so it was a win-win for all.

After taking all of Korinne's friends home the after-party started.  Adam's parents and Stephen and Hailey were in town for the baptism and my parents and my sister Tiffany and her daughter Abigail were all in attendance to finish celebrating Korinne's birthday with a family party.

.

The next day was Korinne's baptism.  Here are a few more pictures of her big day. Adam's parents were supposed to be on their mission already, but Visa problems have set them back a few months so they were able to make it after all.

The last thing Bishop Ernstrom did as Bishop of our ward was have Korinne come up to the pulpit to be recognized as the newest member of the ward and congratulate her on her baptism.  When he finished the Stake President got up and released the Bishopric and then called Adam to be the new Bishop.

It was kind of a crazy weekend, but fun to have so much family around.  Korinne had a great baptism day and loved the party-a-thon in her honor.

What? Adam is the new bishop? I guess I should read blogs more often. That makes you the bishop's wife. You will both be great!
