Summerfest

On the agenda for this week was taking a tour of the Bluebird Candy Factory.  It's been on the "agenda" for a few summers now, but this year we actually did it.  It is a small chocolate factory that has been in operation since 1914 and is a mom and pop, old school type of operation.  It's all done by hand.  The kids found it very interesting.  I felt a little silly taking pictures so I waited until we were in the last room where they have all of the different kinds of chocolate out so they could box them up by hand.

It was all very interesting, but our favorite part was that we each got a chocolate as we left. Very yummy!

Summerfest was this week and Adam was asked to volunteer in the children's art yard for a few hours as a member of the Board of Realtors.  We made sure to go to while he was there. The kids loved doing their art projects under his careful supervision.

Korinne does a great job of keeping our lives very interesting. We never really know exactly what she is going to do.  A few times this last week she came down around 5 or 6 p.m., after a full day of playing outside, dressed in mismatched pajamas.  One night she grabbed her plate at dinner and went outside to sit at Jameson's water table to eat.  She said she wanted to eat outside.

She sat out there the entire time enjoying herself in the summer weather.  We are used to random Korinne things so we didn't think much about it.

We've turned our back balcony into a outdoor play area for Jameson.  He LOVES to be outside, but it was hard for me to supervise him without sitting outside the entire time with him so this was the perfect solution. The balcony is covered and enclosed and is right off the kitchen so I can easily watch him from the back of the house. It's a win-win for us both.

 Now when he wants to go outside I just open the back door and he is good to go.  The other problem we are dealing with is Jameson's climbing abilities.  You see, Jameson is a monkey.  He climbs up everything and is strong enough to get himself anywhere he wants to be.  We can't keep him off of the counter tops, tables, furniture or anything else that is dangerous.  I can take him off of the counter top only to find him on another counter top about 2 seconds later.

Hmm, I wonder why Adam had to start working at his other office.

 During the summer Adam usually works at his office in town since it tends to be more noisy around the house.  Jameson misses not having him at home all day.
