Back in the Saddle

It's that time of year when the kiddos start another school year.  Jenna was so excited she woke up at 3 a.m. this morning and couldn't go back to sleep (I know because she came in and let us know several times that she still couldn't sleep).  She loves school so much that she was probably the only student who was actually sad when school got out for the summer.

 Britton is starting 4th grade.

Jenna is starting 3rd grade.

Korinne is starting Kindergarten but we'll see her big reveal in the next post because they start a day later then everyone else.  She was thrilled to go to Back to School night and have it be for her, too.

Britton has Mrs. Cazier

Jenna has Mrs. Rees
(Ok, Mrs. Rees totally reminds me of Molly Shannon of SNL fame. Can you see it?)

Korinne has morning kindergarten with Mrs. Searle

Thanks to Britton's birthday summer went out with a bang.  Britton and 16 of his closest friends had a big water party at our house on Monday afternoon.  It was a hot day and we borrowed a swimming pool from some friends for the day.  With a trampoline, 2 soccer goals, a slip and slide, a swimming pool, a double shot basketball game, and 16 boys with super soakers (they each brought their own) there was absolutely no way the party was going to be a dud.  The party was such a success that the boys didn't clear out until about 2 hours after the scheduled ending time.  Britton loved every minute of it. "This has been the best birthday ever!"

Adam was super mature and got in the middle of it all.  The boys tried and tried to throw him in the pool, but every time they tried he would just throw them in one by one.  They couldn't get enough.  He definitely got a lot of "cool Dad" points.

I had to google Molly Shannon, and no, I don't see it.

What a great party! Summer party planning has some major advantages over January birthdays. :)

Maybe you just have to see her in person. . .

You have to love parties that you just give them options and they entertain themselves. Looks like fun!
