New Chapter

Halloween.  We were thankful for good weather on AJ's first Halloween.

Jenna still loves to dress up and put together a great Minnie Mouse costume to wear to school.  Korinne continued the theme by being Daisy Duck.

It only took AJ about 2 houses before he really caught the vision of Halloween. Going house to house dressed up and getting candy at each stop was a.o.k with him.  He couldn't say "Trick or Treat" but he did a great job of saying "Thank you!" at each house.

On Satuday, Nov 4th Jenna and Korinne had their first Ballroom dance competition of the season. Their company does a little competition just with themselves to give the kids experience in how a real competition is set up.  Jenna and partners competed in 4 different styles of dance.  She placed 1st in Waltz, 3rd in both Rumba and Quick Step and 5th in another style, which I can't remember right now. Just the fact that she placed in all 4 events shows that she has come a long way since beginning the sport last year.

Korinne's group doesn't have a single boy so they won't be able to compete in any of the syllabus competitions this year.  They will mostly just do a team dance.

AJ got to spent some time with Grandpa just 2 days before Grandpa left for his mission.

We had our first snowfall of the season last weekend.  It was AJ's first time seeing and experiencing the white stuff and he liked it.

Last Sunday my sister Heather and her family arrived just in time to see Grandma and Grandpa set apart by our stake President for their mission. We all had dinner together and before we knew it it was time for them to head down to SLC and for Heather's family to drive home.  My parents reported to the MTC on Monday, Novebmer 6th at 10;30 a.m.

Putting on the missionary badge for the first time. It has been exactly 50 years ago this month that my Dad went on his first mission to Germany. 50 years ago he had to leave my Mom behind, but this time he got to take her with him. 😊

They had 130 Senior Missionaries report on the same day, which meant they didn't have enough rooms for them all. My parents were part of the overflow staying at the Marriott.  I know, I know, it's a tough gig.

They loved their week at the MTC and are en route to Missouri as I'm typing this.  We are so excited for them and know they will love their mission experience helping to take care of church historical sites and doing whatever else the Mission President asks them to do.
