Birthdays and Turkey Days

Britton and Jenna are in the same orchestra at the high school and had their first concert of the year on Nov 14th.  Britton had a little solo part in one of the songs so I enjoyed hearing that.

Britton is the cello section leader.

AJ loves to clear out cupboards and drawers. It is super fun for him and not so fun for me.  He likes to do it when I'm busy cooking dinner or trying to get something done. Needless to say my cupboards don't stay clean for long.

Someone gave us tickets to last Saturday's home football game so Adam took Korinne and Jameson to the game.

They even got some love from Big Blue.

This was a big week for Korinne. She turned 12 years old on Wednesday and is now in Young Womens.

She had the day off from school and enjoyed going to breakfast with Dad, and then shopping at Old Navy and getting frozen yogurt with Mom.  That night we had pizza and opened presents and watched a family movie together.

Our dryer broke down on Tuesday. Lame.  It's only about 18 months old so we were not very happy to already be having problems with it.  Adam had a friend who knows a lot more about this stuff then we do come and help him fix it on Wednesday. They pretty much took the entire dryer apart before his friend found what the problem was, a pulley was broken.  We went and got new parts and then his friend came back later in the afternoon and helped Adam put it all back together.  It was a lot more involved than we thought it would be, but it is running again and that is all that matters. Thank goodness for handy friends!

We left at 6;30 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning to go to S.G.  This was the first time in about 15 years that we have gone south for Thanksgiving and once word got out that we were coming more siblings decided to go as well.  In the end they had 8 out of 10 siblings together for Thanksgiving which was a record for them.

AJ's first Thanksgiving dinner.

It was about 70° so we were able to eat outside which was very helpful with 6 full tables of family members. Thanks to Bethany for hosting such a crowd!

Turkey leg anyone?

Adam's sister Bethany moved into a beautiful home last May that has a pool.  They heated it up to 90° so the kids could swim after the meal was cleaned up. Jameson was one of the first to jump in.

He has come a long way when it comes to water.  For years he refused to even put his face in the water, so when school started this year I signed him up for some private swim lessons at an indoor pool in town and he is actually swimming and no longer has a problem with going under water.  Yea! I've never been so happy to see one of my kids jump into the pool doing a cannonball.

Jameson and AJ are complete opposites when it comes to water.  Jameson was always nervous and timid and didn't love being in the water, AJ is a wild crazy person who has absolutely no fear. He couldn't get enough of jumping in and going down the slide.  His life jacket was a little too big so he tipped over a few times and couldn't get his head above the water for a few seconds. Did it scare him? Not a bit. He was always ready for more and freaked out when we tried to get him out of the pool for the day. Needless to say someone has to be with him at all times around a pool.

Bethany has the ultimate party house with a pool, ping pong and a huge screen for video games.

Britton and Easton playing soccer.

The next day we went to a few parks with some of the little kids.

Jameson and AJ loved getting dizzy on the spin poles.

That night we headed to Aunt Kim's house for dinner and socializing.

On Saturday we got up and got packed and ready to go and then spent some time at Adam's parents house before leaving for home in the early afternoon.  I had to teach Relief Society the next day and Adam had early meetings.  It was a great Thanksgiving and a real treat to experience 70° temperatures on Thanksgiving day. Definitely a first for us!

Sounds wonderful! What a great place to play and enjoy "warm" weather. We will have a hard tim enticing you back to our cold weather celebration.
